Critical Regular is the perfect combination of speed of growth, yield and quality. It has a reputation as the perfect commercial strain in the Netherlands. Although quite a compact plant its short inter-nodal spacing results in very good yields. It is a cross of Afghani and Skunk strains and is 60% indica, 40% sativa. The ability to grow out male plants means that growers with a penchant for breeding experiments can harvest some quality pollen to satisfy their interests.

Critical can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Indoor plants will reach a height of between 80 - 140 cm tall with outdoor plants considerably bigger at 180 - 220 cm. Growers with smaller indoor spaces can reduce the size of plants by allowing them a shorter period of vegetative growth. Although it can be brought to maturity outdoors in northern European countries such as the Netherlands and the UK it will perform better and with bigger harvests in warmer climates with a lot more sun such as is found in the Mediterranean. Indoor yields are in the region of 550 - 600 gr/m2 under 600 watt grow lights with flowering lasting for 7 - 9 weeks. Either Sea of Green (SoG) or Screen of Green (SCRoG) are recommended to maximise production. Outdoors yields can be as high as 650 gr/plant with late September harvests north of the equator.
